Sensory Toys Accessibility - Home and Away
Share
Thank you for your patience whist I took a break to spend time with my family.
We’ve just returned from a lovely holiday but like so many families like ours, we struggled with sensory regulation whilst away. Alice absolutely loves the pool. When she is in it, she’s happy and regulated but outside of the pool she struggled. Drying off for suncream, change in routine, different weather and the general hustle and bustle of a half term holiday.
I thought we’d hit the jackpot when we found a small trampoline park. It worked well the first time as we arrived not long before closing and she had the space to herself. After that it didn’t go so well as she kept trying to bounce where other children were or lay where they were bouncing.
I pack the kitchen sink of toys and tools to take with us but I cant take the two that help her the most at home. Her Trampoline Board and Spinning Frog. I realised I take for granted that our house is full of sensory toys. Perks of being a Sensory Toy shop owner, we test everything so Alice has access to these when she needs. Other families are in situations like we were on holiday, every day! They do not have access to the resources they need at home.
I have taken some extra time while the website has been closed to review prices, to make these resources more accessible to more families. I hope this is a welcome change.
As a small business, I cannot compete with larger businesses that can take advantage of economies of scale. I do need to make a profit to provide for my family but I have reviewed where I can make savings and pass these onto you, the customers that need it.
